Vincent and Evans, who run the Matungu Community Development Charity, have sent us more pictures from our most recent delivery to Kenya! We are very excited to see the girls enjoying the bicycles as well as putting them to good use.
In addition, Vincent has sent us an update since the delivery:
"Thanks for your kind support and we are very delighted to have bicycles for our girls at this moment and schools are now closed here in Kenya. We have collected report cards from the girls and still studying them to find out about their performance and am happy to report that a great number of those girls using new bicycles have either improved in grades or the position in class,few who have not performed well promised us better grades next term.
Girls together with their guardians are now using bicycles at home for collecting water and firewood ,visiting relatives ,transporting goods or farm products to the market ,life has been made easy for both the students and parents because they have means of transportation now which is cheap and affordable. Buffalo bicycles are very strong one of the guardian by the name Margret Muruka testify this because she is using the bicycle to transport several bunches of bananas to the market thus saving her some money which was initially being used to pay somebody to ferry her bananas to the market . She fetches good profits from her sales ."
